Second rein acts with slight leverage on the lower jaw branches. This bit puts its pressure evenly on the lower jaw and is generally well accepted by horses. It allows a release of the jaw chain for a bigger range. The pressure can be increased as needed. This bit is great for strong horses who push forward. The tongue port snaffle gives the horse’s tongue enough room because of the flattened area on the port. Many horses react to this with more relaxation and chewing. Therefore this bit is perfect for horses that won’t tolerate pressure on the tongue and for those who tend to stick their tongue above the bit.
